Upcoming November 2026 Elections
Several local elections are on the ballot this upcoming November 3rd including several with Republican candidates in the running.
Rick Woods for Watauga County Commission District 1
Over the past several weeks, Rick has been refining his campaign message, planning events, and developing strategies to reach voters across the district. Unlike many other candidates, Rick often thinks late into the night about issues and new ways to connect with our community. In addition to direct voter reach out, Rick's campaign website has news, upcoming events and his latest comments on the important issues for Watauga District 1 voters.
Eric Eller for District Court Judge
Eric believes a judge's responsibility is simple but critical: interpret the law—not legislate from the bench. If you value judges who apply the law fairly, impartially, and according to the Constitution, this is a great opportunity to get to know the candidate asking for your vote. Learn more on Eric's Facebook page.
Darren Church for Watauga County Sheriff
The only candidate to received the full endorsement of the North Carolina Police Benevolent Association for Watauga County Sheriff. Darren couldn’t be more proud to have received this endorsement, and the support and confidence of the law enforcement officers that goes with it. Come meet the candidate at the Watauga County GOP HQ on August 29th at 11:30am for a campaign BBQ Fundraiser! Come enjoy a delicious BBQ lunch, great fellowship, and an opportunity to support Darin Church's campaign for Sheriff. This is more than just a meal—it's a chance to meet friends and neighbors, hear about his vision for the future of our Sheriff's Office, and help build a campaign dedicated to protection, service and Integrity. Find out more at Darren's Facebook page.
Charles Haynes for Clerk of Superior Court
Serving in the Clerk of Court's office requires more than knowing the law—it requires the ability to lead through change while ensuring citizens receive accurate, efficient, and dependable service. As your candidate for, and current Clerk of Superior Court, Charles Haynes understands that experience matters. It matters for the families navigating estate matters, the victims seeking justice, the citizens relying on court records, and every person who walks through the courthouse doors expecting fair, efficient, and knowledgeable service.
